"I remember when weekend would be open."
Mr. Covey said it right because now my schedule's so full theres no way i could ever keep up with it
Before I got into high school my weekends used to be empty days that I could fill with whatever I wanted. That is not the case now. Now I have something going on almost every weekend. Weather it is a debate tournament, going to a friend’s house, home work or family gatherings my weekends are almost always full of something to do. It doesn’t really bother me to much if I have nothing planned on that day. The problem comes when I get multiple things I want to or have to do. When this happens I have to decide which one is more important to me. Normally I make the right choice. These are some of the reasons I make the choices I do.
If it is a debate tournament it doesn’t bother me because I know I scheduled it myself and I knew about it ahead of time. But the tournaments can sneak up on you if you’re not careful. You might sign up for something four weeks before it actually happens, but those four weeks will come up on you quickly. I know iv been surprised in thinking that I have an open weekend only to find out on Wednesday that I have to debate I three days. On rare occasions I have had to quickly throw together something so can even compete when I was confused about how much time I have to prepare. But even on those rare occasions I still get the work done because I know that I will love the win along with the trophies.
If going to a friend’s house is one of the thing that I have to decide between then the choice can either be much easier or much harder. This is because there is a lot more to consider when you make the choice to go or not.
You have to consider how good of friends you are with the person. If you are really good friends with the person then obviously you will want to go over to there house more than if you just met the person. You have to also consider what you will be doing if you go over to there house. If you are just going to sit around and play Xbox all day then you might want to choose something more productive.
So depending on what you will get when you do something depends on weather or not you should do it. Also you should keep you schedule up to date so you can know what’s coming up. But no matter how scheduled I seem to get I always have busy weekends.
